The Vltor VC-9 compensator is machined from 17-4 stainless steel, and features a mil-spec black oxide surface treatment (MIL-DTL-13924). The unique port design on this compensator is configured to redirect gases in a manner that effectively mitigate muzzle movement; therefore reducing movement in your optic or sight picture. The closed-bottom design of the VC-9 helps to minimize dust, debris, and general ground disturbance. In addition to the ports, the muzzle face of the VC-9 features six vortex cuts that greatly reduce secondary muzzle flash.
The VC-9 is made in one operation on a multi-axis live-tool DMG MORI lathe. The bore, threads, and all surface features are cut in one operation, in one machine, without removal of the workpiece. This ensures absolute concentricity and alignment of the features.
