Riley Defense is now offering a Krink series of firearms chambered in 7.62×39 semi auto. These rifles are a copy of the Iconic AKS-74U rifles adopted by the Soviet Military in 1979 and produced by Izmash & Tula arsenals. The Krinkov AKA- Krink = Western Name originating from the Mujahideen fighting Russia in Afghanistan, referring to the AKS-74U as Kalnikov. The Krinkov name came from the media covering the war and neither Krink or Krinkov name has always been considered slang or colloquial. These rifles were fielded primarily by airborne and armored vehicle teams due to the design’s compact nature. The AKS-74Us were highly coveted rifles during the Afghanistan-Russian war and can still be seen in use today by various different militaries around the world .
