The Forward Controls Design URF V2 is the result of wishful thinking put to action. The standard A3 receiver is excellent at what it does, but the people at Forward Controls Designs had always felt that with a few easy changes, it could be better. From an integrated overpressure gas vent to handy relief cuts, the Upper Receiver, Forward Controls Design v2 takes an already excellent UPUR-1 billet receiver from CMT and makes it just that bit better with the ergonomic upgrades Forward Controls Design always wanted.
Features:
- Relief cut on housing
- Overpressure relief vent
- Billet 7075-T6 aluminum construction
- Type III hardcoat anodized finish
- Engraved T-marks
- Compatible with LMT MARS lowers
- Accepts mil-spec ejection port covers
- Increased wall thickness
One of the first things you’ll notice about the URF v2 is the relief cuts over the charging handle slot. These scallops offer greater accessibility to your flip up rear sights, making deploying them quick and easy. The forward assist housing has also been eliminated, reducing weight and offering more room for your fingers when running an ambidextrous charging handle. This is especially helpful when wearing gloves! For suppressed shooters, the v2 also features an integrated over pressure relief vent. Once the bolt carrier group has passed the ejection port, it continues to vent gas into the receiver which generally finds its way out through the charging handle slot. The relief vent provides a better path of least resistance, significantly reducing the familiar gas to the face any suppressed AR shooter will know. Don’t shoot suppressed? The hole is tapped to accept an included set screw, allowing users to seal their receiver.
