While this Charging Handle is offered with several latch sizes, the MOD4 (Medium) latch version is one of the most popular. With mission critical applications in mind, the VLTOR patented internal design reduces stress on the roll pins which ensures a long reliable lifespan even with repeated hand manipulation from the support side. This design also ensures that when the handle is pulled directly to the rear, it moves in a linear fashion and does not angle off to the outboard side.

Unlike the milspec AR-15 platform, no such standard exists for the AR-10s, and there are dozens of variances between manufacturers.
