California ID Verification (AB‑1263) Policy
Effective: January 1, 2026
Certain products we sell require identity verification for California residents under state law. This is a fast, checkout-friendly process designed to keep orders moving while ensuring compliance.
How California ID Verification Works
Step 1: Upload Your ID
After completing checkout, you’ll be prompted to upload a clear photo of your California driver’s license or California state ID. Make sure the image is well-lit and all text is readable.
Step 2: Automatic Verification
Our secure system reads the name and address from your ID and compares it to your shipping address. This happens quickly—no manual review delays in typical cases.
Step 3: Address Confirmation
If your ID address matches your shipping address, you’re almost done. If there’s a difference (for example, a recent move), you can either:
- Update your shipping address to match your ID, or
- Upload a secondary document showing your current address
Accepted secondary documents (examples):
- Vehicle registration
- Utility bill
- State or local tax document/government correspondence
Important: For California shipments of covered items, we can only ship to an address that matches the address shown in your verification documents.
Step 4: Acknowledgment & Completion
Review and acknowledge that the information provided is accurate, then submit. Your order will be processed once verification is complete.
What Orders Are Affected?
This verification applies to California orders that include products covered by AB‑1263’s requirements for firearm accessories/manufacturing tools / certain related components (as defined under CA law).
If an item in your cart requires CA verification, you’ll see the prompt after checkout.
Delivery Requirements (California)
Some shipments may require the recipient to present identification and provide a signature at delivery.
Note: Many carrier “Adult Signature” services in the U.S. require the signer to be 21+ with government-issued photo ID (carrier rule), which can affect delivery for some customers even when the underlying CA requirement is 18+.
If Verification Fails (What Happens Next)
If we can’t complete verification, your order will be placed on hold. You’ll be able to:
- Re-upload clearer images, or
- Update your shipping address to match your ID, or
- Provide a secondary document, or
- Cancel the order for a refund
Your Privacy Matters
- Your ID image is processed securely and is only used for verification purposes.
- We do not use your ID information for marketing.
- Retention: We do not retain ID images after verification is complete except where required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or carrier/insurance claims.
- All data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption.
